Owner and Founder – CPA, CMA
Kelly was born, raised and educated in Toronto, Ontario. She completed her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 1996.
She opened her own firm because she loved being an accountant but also knew in her heart that accounting should be more than just crunching numbers. And so, Kelly set her goal to create a firm that was better, unique – a firm that cared about its clients and worked with them to ensure they reached their profit and growth goals faster than they ever dreamed possible! Fast forward to present day – she and her firm is still doing precisely that.
Kelly’s commitment and caring has resulted in a long list of cherished, loyal and very successful clients for whom Kelly and her team work hard each day to be more than just another Whitby accountant!
When she is not helping clients or volunteering in her community, Kelly’s favourite past time is spending time with her children, Brittany and Brendan. And, of course, showering her two grandchildren, Aram and Avaline with endless love…and gifts! This year Kelly is looking forward to starting up workshops to help more people get out of debt!
Laurie’s commitment to outstanding customer service, continuous improvement and furthering her education has made her a valued member of the KMPC team. Her dedication to helping clients achieve the best results for their businesses is results from her 25 years of accounting experience. Actively demonstrating her commitment to continuous improvement, Laurie is presently studying to obtain her CPA designation.
In her current capacity, as Senior Accountant, Laurie completes corporate year-end compilations and provides onsite consultations in a junior-controllership capacity. Laurie takes pride in outstanding levels of accuracy and efficiency in her work ensuring that clients get only the best service possible. These are the characteristics which make Laurie an integral contributor to the KMPC team.
Laurie and her husband Derek have been happily married for 23 years and have two amazing children, Courtney and Joseph.
Bookkeeper and IT Specialist
Jody brings a unique combination of skills to Kelly Melanson Professional Corporation. As bookkeeper, he processes clients’ monthly files. He is continually upgrading his bookkeeping training to stay up to date on the latest updates and trends.
Jody also has an extensive background in computer hardware and software. His expertise has brought an exciting new dimension to the firm. Jody leads the firm’s continuous improvement initiatives regarding implementing and maintaining the latest technologies that provide the firm, and its clients, with the latest tools.
Presently he is equipping the office with Hubdoc – a tool that automates the transfer of data to streamline the bookkeeping for clients, thus resulting in faster and more accurate accounting data for our clients.
Jody is married. He and his wife Kelly have four grown children. Jody has many hobbies. When he’s not assisting clients he enjoys: photography, weight lifting, computer gaming and martial arts.
Julie is the first face you see upon entering KMPC and the welcoming voice on the phone when you call our office. Her background working in fast-paced business settings, along with her outstanding customer service skills and attention to detail make Julie a valued member of our team.
Brittany has been part of the KMPC ‘virtual support team’ for over 5 years. She works from home, while also home-schooling her two children, Aram 8 and Avaline 5 years old.
When Brittany is not working on KMPC client files or teaching her kids, she is busy tending to the goats and chickens on the family farm that she shares with Paul, her husband of 10 years.
